Serving Detroit Businesses Since 1983

Detroit is not one IT market. Downtown high-rises share a ZIP code with historic warehouses converted to office suites, and both are a short drive from neighborhoods rebuilding themselves block by block. The technology needs vary just as much: a law firm in the Guardian Building has different priorities than a restaurant group operating six locations across Corktown and Midtown, and both are different from a manufacturing office parked on the west side. Wizcom has worked in all of them.

Detroit's density means fiber and cable options are strong downtown and Midtown, but coverage gets patchy fast once you cross into the neighborhoods. We know which providers actually deliver in which ZIP codes, which building managers require a Certificate of Insurance before a technician can enter, and how long it really takes to run new cabling in a 100-year-old building. That saves quotes-that-become-negotiations and installs-that-become-change-orders.

Same-day on-site response to Detroit is our standard during business hours. Calls that come in late in the day may be scheduled for the next morning; when you call, we'll tell you what to expect that day.

Detroit in Practice

We've supported downtown law firms through building moves, kept restaurant POS systems running during Lions and Tigers game-day rushes, and stood up VoIP for creative agencies migrating from POTS lines the landlord finally shut off. The specifics change; the reliability doesn't.

Detroit Questions Wizcom Gets

Do you offer on-site IT support in downtown Detroit?
Yes. Downtown Detroit is inside our same-day on-site response zone. We regularly work in buildings including the Renaissance Center, Guardian Building, Penobscot, One Campus Martius, and the Ally Detroit Center, and we're familiar with the building-access and COI requirements each of them has.
Can Wizcom help a Detroit business move from POTS lines to VoIP?
Yes, and it's common work for us right now as Michigan's copper POTS network continues to be decommissioned. We handle the whole migration: hosted phone system selection, number porting, on-site network prep, handset deployment, and training. Elevator lines, alarm lines, and fax lines get separate handling.
What industries do you typically serve in Detroit?
Legal, financial services, hospitality, creative agencies, healthcare, and automotive-adjacent professional services are the categories we work in most often in Detroit. Our Managed IT and VoIP services are the two most-used offerings for city clients.
How fast can you respond if something breaks?
Same-day on-site response is standard for Detroit clients on a service agreement during business hours, subject to how late in the day the call comes in. Remote-first triage happens right after a ticket comes in. After-hours coverage is defined in your service agreement.
Are you familiar with Detroit's older commercial buildings?
Yes. Cabling a 1920s downtown building is a different job than cabling a suburban office park, and pretending otherwise leads to change orders. We scope those jobs assuming asbestos surveys, plaster walls, limited plenum space, and building-manager involvement, because that's reality.
